Furniture Restoration

At Trefler & Sons, our largest and busiest department is the wood department where we handle furniture repair, restoration and conservation. We repair structural damage and repair or replace any veneer or inlay work, including marquetry, as needed. All stripping and sanding is done by hand to maintain the integrity of the wood. Our techniques are designed to restore your furniture pieces to their original beauty. We mix many of our own oils and materials on site.

In addition, we:

• Specialize in saving original finishes and working with Asian lacquer
• Hand strip and refinish
• Make missing parts including refinishing veneer furniture and inlay
• Do Structural repairs for stability
• Reverse fire and water furniture damage

You can bring in your smaller pieces for a free estimate. For larger items, please call us at 617-965-3388 and ask for Jeannette. She will schedule someone to come to your home for an estimate. We can also arrange for an artist to come to your home for onsite repairs. We also offer a quarterly in house maintenance program, to address problems such as pet damage, water spots, minor nicks, scratches and other common household furniture mishaps.
