Kathleen Rose
Art Studio Manager/ Head Wood Conservator
Kathleen joined Trefler & Sons in 1989. She is a graduate of Hartwick
College and holds a Master's of Fine Art degree in the art and science of photography from Rochester
Institute of Technology. She studied restoration and conservation of paper at the George
Eastman House. Kathleen was an Associate Professor of photography at Monroe College and currently
teaches photography and wood refinishing for Brookline's Adult Education program. She trained the
Curator of the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University. In order to further her
understanding of finishes, she spent a year studying with Jeff Jewett in Philadelphia.
At Trefler & Sons Kathleen has worked in porcelain and ceramics and is an experienced potter. She
deals in mixed media including porcelain, granite, ceramics, and marble. Most of the lacquer work
in the studio is handled by Kathleen and she oversees all wood restoration and conservation activities.
She has done extensive work for Harvard University and is well known throughout the industry.
